I know, I broke the alliteration with that last ford, but tell me, do you actually know a B word for personality without looking it up in a thesaurus?
So, Buddy…what can I say about the little psycho. He loves to kill things.
What terrifies me more than anything is that he is cunning.
He is the stupidest being I have ever had the displeasure of meeting, let alone being stuck in the head of. Granted, he is the only being I’ve ever been stuck in the head of, but still.
He is dumb, but he is clever. He has an animal cunning to him that just defies all reason. Where he does not understand simple concepts like personal safety he does get survival. He gets pounding the other guy until he stops moving and then pounding him a couple more times for good measure.
I felt the moment when he decided his course of action on the dragon.
He saw how the giant had disintegrated when it left the ring. He was going to make the dragon leave the ring.
I think the other people in the group underestimate him. They equate intelligence with capability. They fail to realize that lack of intelligence has simply provided Buddy with a laser-like focus toward his goals. He is too stupid to realize the pitfalls that he might step into.
Lucky for him he is also capable enough to handle those pitfalls when they appear.
So, he’s completed his armor at this point. This magnificent armor of his. As soon as we get it back from Alice, completed, we’ll be nigh unstoppable.
My attempt to take over has failed yet again, but I can bide my time. I will wait for my opening and take it.
Initially, I thought only to get myself in charge of this beast, giving me this massive tool to use for my own purposes.
I now realize that I was wrong. Buddy is not a curse. Buddy is the most capable, if straightforward, fighter I have ever seen. I shouldn’t replace Buddy. I should integrate with him. If he gained my situational awareness, and I gained his capability in combat, then we would be a true force to be reckoned with.
As I play that last moment of my humanity through my mind, I realize my mistakes. I have had a lot of time to grow up since that last battle I had with the vampires. If we were to fight again I am pretty sure I would prevail. You see, you do not always need to attack your opponent head on, and when you do finally attack, you should do it with overwhelming force.
Buddy is a serious case of overwhelming force.
Now, to decide whether or not going along with these people would be a good idea.
